Description

This wonderful church interior, the stained glass, the pews, the... Oh! I must have been on the sauce last night without knowing it! This is clearly a beautiful mansion somewhere but where and is it still there?

[/photos/gnmcauley/ Niall McAuley] quickly identified this (clearly mislabelled) gothic manor as Shelton Abbey, County Wicklow. Previously the estate of the Earl of Wicklow , it definitely still stands, and has apparently been operated by the prison service as an 'open prison' since the 1970s .
